R&D at viadee
Over the years product and technology life cycles have shortened significantly. As a result of the new IT possibilities, expectations for new innovative solutions on the IT market have risen considerably. Viadee has recognised this early on. In our Research & Development department (R&D) we not only produce content desired by the market or clients, it is also a central contact point for our employees to bring in their ideas and innovations. Especially in an IT consulting company, in which most employees work at the client’s office, a long-term and cross-client R&D department is very important. Here, new topics and products can be worked out together in a sustainable and goal-oriented way.

Tobias Heide has been working and researching at viadee for more than two years. After his doctorate, an important reason to work in our team was that he can continue to research as an IT consultant.
Creating innovations in the long term
To ensure that innovations and ideas can be pursued and implemented long-term, viadee allocates a high budget to the R&D Department. This budget is distributed to the various research groups depending on the interest of the market, clients and employees. In view of digitalisation, the current focus area is BPM. The topic of agility is finding its way into many companies as well and test automation in a business context is also a highly topical issue. For all these focus areas there are numerous activities, appearances on conferences, as well as a close cooperation with universities.
University Cooperation
Thanks to our cooperation with various universities we have a direct line to the latest research. Together we investigate and compile topics of the latest developments in the IT environment. Additionally, we offer our students an initial insights into the working methods of a consulting business and exchange ideas in lectures or seminars about realistic practical cases.
At viadee the HR department and the R&D department are closely intertwined: often theses result from the R&D areas. Well-educated students that wrote their bachelor or master thesis with us stay more and more often to be permanently employed at viadee. Ideally, they pursue research topics permanently and participate in the R&D areas of viadee.
